Location (Field Station): CMU Biological Station, Beaver island Michigan
Course Description: Examination of the interrelations between organisms and their aquatic environment, which will include a range of habitats within the Laurentian Great Lakes region. The course will take a systems-level approach towards describing and identifying the physical, chemical and biological characteristics that define the Great Lakes as unique ecosystems world-wide. Specifically, the course will examine the biological assemblages that inhabit ecosystems in and around the Beaver Island Archipelago specific to topical changes in native biodiversity and alterations in system productivity.Credit/Non-credit option
