The Organization of Biological Field Stations 2012 Human Diversity Award goes to:

Grace Grossman Youth Collaborative
University of Massachusetts Boston Nantucket Field Station

This program serves urban schools throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, providing high-school and middle-school students with a week-long, all expenses paid trip to the UMB-NFS to learn about ecology, the environment, science, and history.   Congratulations to Dr. Sarah Oktay and Nantucket Field Station!

The award includes recognition on OBFS' website, an opportunity to share program information at the annual OBFS meeting in September, reimbursement for the cost of attending the meeting up to $1000, and a lovely plaque.

Thanks to all who applied; committee members commented on the depth and creativity of the nominated programs and the good work going on at so many field stations.
